Shoreline Master Plan Updates
Posted By Dwight on December 28, 2008
Shoreline plans in Washington State are being updated. Much has changed since many of these plans were first created in the 1970s. The City of Sammamish has written a new plan and the City Council will continue work on it in early 2009. After the City Council approves the plan it will go to the State Department of Ecology for review and approval. The new plan should be in effect by Fall of 2009. As a shoreline resident I am following the update closely and will be posting information about the plan here on this website. If you have questions about how the plan might affect your ability to improve or sell your property, please give me a call. I would be happy talk with you about it.
I have also been watching the updates for other Cities in the area and will post links and more information as it becomes available. As of now Redmond has completed their plan and sent it on to DOE. Bellevue has not yet started theirs and Issaquah will be after them. Each City will have different rules, so it is important to keep an eye on this and see how it develops. More to come.
All my best,
Dwight
